Update on Progress Resupply Vehicle Deorbit

Following the undocking of the uncrewed Roscosmos Progress 82 cargo spacecraft from the International Space Station at 9:26 p.m. EST on Friday, Feb. 17, flight controllers at Mission Control in Moscow canceled the scheduled 11:02 p.m. deorbit burn, which would have set the vehicle on course to burn up over the Pacific Ocean.

Progress 82 currently is in a stable configuration and on a safe trajectory that keeps it well away from the International Space Station while teams on the ground discuss a forward plan.

Crew Dragon Suit Checks as Station Begins Orbital Reboosts

The Expedition 63 crew checked out SpaceX Crew Dragon suits today and stayed busy with a full slate of space research. The International Space Station also completed the first of three orbital reboosts to get ready for the next crew mission in October. Flight Engineers Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken inspected the suits they will wear when they return to Earth aboard the Crew Dragon spaceship. The duo tried on their suits for a fit check and ensured the components are in good condition. They are scheduled to depart the station on Saturday and splashdown the following day. Crew Readies for New Space Toilet and Continues Eye Exams

The International Space Station is gearing up for an advanced bathroom set to arrive on a U.S. resupply ship early next month. Meanwhile, the Expedition 63 crew continued this week’s eye checks and more space research and life support maintenance. The orbital lab will get a new space toilet scheduled to be delivered inside Northrop Grumman’s Cygnus cargo craft on Oct. 3. The upgraded restroom facility will be smaller, more comfortable and support a larger crew as NASA’s Commercial Crew Program sends more astronauts to the station.
