Uncrewed Progress Spacecraft Deorbit Burn Complete

The uncrewed Progress 82 cargo spacecraft conducted a deorbit burn at 10:15 p.m. EST Saturday, Feb. 18, over the Pacific Ocean after spending four months at the International Space Station.

Loaded with trash, Progress 82 undocked from the space station’s Poisk module at 9:26 p.m. EST Friday, Feb. 17. The Progress deorbit was delayed about 24-hours while Roscosmos engineers analyzed imagery acquired after undocking of the radiator area of the spacecraft, which is the suspected region where a coolant leak occurred on Feb. 11.

Crew Dragon Endeavour Has Re-Docked to Station

Credit: NASA TV Crew Dragon Endeavour with NASA astronauts  Shane Kimbrough  and   Megan McArthur , JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut  Akihiko Hoshide , and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut  Thomas Pesquet , have re-docked to the International Space Station . Crew Dragon autonomously undocked from the forward port of the station’s Harmony module at 6:45 a.m. and relocated to the space-facing port at 7:35 a.m. completing the second space station port change for the crewed spacecraft. Russian Cargo Craft Blasts off to Resupply Station

Russia’s Progress 80 resupply ship blasted off on Feb. 14 at 11:25 p.m. EST from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. Credit: NASA TV. The uncrewed Russian Progress 80 is safely in orbit headed for the International Space Station following launch at 11:25 p.m. EST (9:25 a.m. on Feb. 15 Baikonur time) from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The resupply ship reached preliminary orbit and deployed its solar arrays and navigational antennas as planned on its way to meet up with the orbiting laboratory and its Expedition 66 crew members. After making 34 orbits of Earth on its journey, Progress will dock to the station’s Poisk module on the space-facing side of the Russian segment at 2:06 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17.
